How to Root Your Android Phone in Recovery Mode

Android mobiles have been commonly used by more and more users for its powerful user-friendly functions and open source operating system. One of the best features of Android device is that Android provides you with abundant resource like Third party ROM and various software. Making good use of these resources, you can optimize your Android System, getting rid of the restrictions from the official system. There are different ways to root your device. Here we will show you how to root your Android phone in recovery mode. Note that the following steps are based on Google Nexus S.

How to root your Android phone?

Step 1 After downloading ROM, put it in the root of the memory card of your phone or SD card. Note the file that do not unzip or rename the files.
Step 2 Enter the recovery mode.
Now keep pressing the Power button and click "Reboot" when a drop-down menu pop up. After the selection, you will see 3 options for you to choose. Please tick "Recovery mode" and wait for a few seconds.

Step 3 Wipe data/factory reset before rooting your device.
"Wipe data/factory reset" > "Yes -delete all user data"
"Wipe cache partition" > "Yes -Wipe Cache"
You can select the catalogue with the volume keys in recovery mode.
Step 4 Find where ROM files locate.
Similarly, click "Install zip from SD card" > "choose zip from SD card". Then you will enter an interface which enables you to find your ROM content. Choose your ROM files and click the Power button to make selection.
Step 5 Root your Android phone.
After the steps above, you will see the interface changes like the picture we show you. Select "Yes-Install RAINY NIGHT-FINAL.zip" and click the Power button.

Step 6 Reboot your Android.
When rooting is ended, a note will show "Install complete" and it is time for you to restart your phone. Click "Reboot System Now", and all work has been done.
